The Romantic Locksmith
[keywords: personal rachel romantic goofs]
An amusing feature of Rachel's apartment that I'm sure she will be glad to have behind her is that her bathroom door can't be closed without trapping the person on the inside. The door handle is broken and just spins on the bathroom side.
I only mention this because tonight we decided to have a nice romantic candle lit bath together. The scented hot water, very relaxing. Great aroma from the burning candle, and me pushing the door closed to stop the breeze from coming in to the bathroom.
I mentioned you can't open it from the inside, no?
Nothing more romantic than your naked boyfriend having to use your tweezers to jimmy a door handle to get the two of you out of the now sauna like bathroom.
I have no idea how I'll top this on Valentines.

This time, believe it or not, I have a decent reason for not updating.
Things have been very busy with me. Very busy and... Fun.
Rachel and I have been having a fantastic time together, quite honestly I haven't been this happy in a long time... if ever. We've have, however, decided that the long distance relationship thing isn't viable and would never work.
So she's moving from Kentucky to Louisiana.
It's a somewhat scary thought for me after being single for the longest period in my life not counting childhood. Sharing things and having responsibilities to another person are things I've been avoiding for a while now. I think that I've found someone right for me to start again with though.
She also likes my blog, so everyone may actually hear more from me in the future.

Rachel will be here soon...

So it's been a while since my last entry eh? Yeah it has.
One event of note really, and the one I'm writing about. Rachel is coming here for Christmas... I am, of course, quite nervous, and very excited. We've been talking for a year or so now, and I've been looking forward to this for a long time.
We plan on spoiling each other and watching a ton of movies. She may even get me into church for Christmas, she has a dress she brought down for it that I'm aching to see her in. :)
She's leaving the New Orleans area right now, so with traffic she should be here in the next two hours. I may even have to blog a lot more. There will definitely be pictures. Hope you all have holidays as good as mine looks to be.

A nice week for a change.
[keywords: personal rachel fun games]
The past few days have been spent recovering and rejoicing in some time off of work without my head feeling like it's going to explode.
It's been a rather enjoyable few days at that. I finally got the bigger hard drive into my computer and got the AMD box set up with Ubuntu Linux, something I'm finding almost nice enough to consider moving over to Linux on my main box for.
I've also put some time into gaming, playing a little Soul Calibur III and Dragon Quest VII. Whoever made the AI for SC should be taken in the back yard and beaten to a bloody pulp, because that game is hard. I actually had to take out my old Mortal Kombat game and play it a bit just to make sure I didn't somehow fall into the suck zone for fighting games.
Dragon Quest has been a lot more fun. I've just started playing so it will have to wait before I know if the AI in this game is going to beat me like a schoolgirl or not.
The rest of my time has been spent playing on the internet just spinning around to different sites, and talking to Rachel on every medium we can find, including a phone conversation that somehow lasted longer than it took me to read War and Peace. She's been an incredible pick me up with all the shit at work and home.
This is the first time in a while I've actually felt like doing something other than lollygagging about. Let's hope it continues.

Why Rachel Is Better Than Pringles
[keywords: rachel im conversations]
Reason #17 - Interesting IM Conversations
Rachel: Okay, but you have to wear a uniform.
Scottie: we've been over this maid outfit
Rachel: It doesn't have to have a skirt.
Scottie: oh no bottoms, thats much better
Rachel: I was thinking something...not quite that casual.
Scottie: I dont want my mousy goodness on display for everyone ya know
Rachel: Why? It's not like they could see it.
Scottie: =D ooooh good one
Rachel: Yeah, you walked right into that.
Scottie: I can walk right into it? Hell of a couple we'd make

Days Off
[keywords: personal work rachel]
Why do my days off pass so fast? It seems like just two days ago I was getting off of work about to enjoy them and now tonight I have to go back in. Oh the cry.
The good news is that today completes my goal of going a week without bitching about work. There were a few slipups but nothing anywhere close to the normal daily helping of wal-mart whining. I'm thinking to continue the goal. It actually helped considerably with making it through my days, as in order to not bitch about it I had to take it a lot less seriously.
The days off were quite nice though, I got to catch up with some old friends, spend a lot of time with some new ones, and chat up Rachel for most of Wed night. All in all a nice way to spend a couple days.
