Where Amanda becomes Popcorn

[keywords: ]

Going in to work last night I was both insanely exhausted and annoyed. I had discussed with one of my co-workers the possibility of me calling in that night, and he asked the manager if he could come in early to help cover for me. My manager told me that if I couldn't work my shifts he could put me back down to part time...

This is after just signing my evaluation from work which mentioned how dependable I am, how much of a difference I'm making in the department and so on. Luckily Nick was there to vent to when he told me this or I likely would have made an ass out of myself going to the store manager about something pointless and stupid. The assistant manager over my department, though someone I used to consider a friend, is a horrible kiss ass and honestly would probably ask death for a short postponement if wal-mart needed him in that day. A company man indeed.

Going in that night was something that I debated as I was really tired and I'm the kind of person that will do something just because he told me I better not. I'm glad I did though.

When Amanda saw how miserable I was she came over to my department with a box and a huge smile on her face. I didn't know what she was up to, and women coming at me with smiles like that is usually cause enough to make me run, but alas I was too tired. She then showed me the inside of the box, which had a few kernels of corn inside, and said "Look, popcorn!" and started banging the bottom of the box, making them jump in the air. I couldn't help but laugh, especially after I looked up and saw the huge hopeful smile on her face.

My sister and I have decided to rename her popcorn.
