Multi-Touch Interface

[keywords: ]

Welcome to the future bucky, it shure is purdy neat...

Sadly this was the first thought I had when looking at this page detailing and showing a video of a bi-manual, multi-point, and multi-user input on a graphical interaction surface.

It's incredibly neat but the video itself offers a much better explanation of what it is and does than I ever could.

:Edit: Site may be a tad slow, it seems to be getting raped.

PetTree Strap In the "almost cool enough to make me reactivate my mobile phone... almost" department I want one of these. Nifty Nifty but all sold out. I like the Mi one but I definately want the Tomo. It looks like a little palm tree.

Whoever came up with this needs a cookie.

Google released another incredible tool, this time a desktop application of their popular Google Maps site. They have converted the old Keyhole software to Google Earth and released it... in beta.

I was going to do a write up on this but to be honest you can see better here and here.

Or you could just get it here.

Some of you may have noticed that this morning I moved the archives around a little bit. While the old way (/archives/000xxx.html) was functional it wasn't very descriptive, or orderly. It also clogged the hell out of the archive directory.

The new system moves the archive pages to a more orderly format (this one will be /archives/2004/4/new-archive-layout) yet forwards the old address to the new. So any old links will still be functional. (for now) Unfortunately it borked the rss feeds. Such is life, I apologized but it had to happen sometime.

More on the technique behind this in read more...
