Work? Yeah I work...

The last week or so has been... tiring, to say the least. The managers where I work have both been off, one on vacation, and one's wife in the hospital. This left our already short department in relative disarray.

Enter me... The one who made the smart ass comment about wanting as much overtime as I can handle. I've spent the week pretty much living at work. Counting lunch time I've put in pretty close to 90 hours last week, thanks to a brutal lunch conspiracy I'll get paid for about 77.08 hours of it. This does, however, break the record I held when I worked for 74 hours the week of Hurricane Andrew.

Now I'm sitting here and both my managers are back. I have a splitting headache and find myself sitting at the computer 5 hours before I need to go to work, having spent about 3 hours sleeping in the last 48, completely unable to get into bed and sleep. Every time I lay down it feels like my head is going to explode.

I get headaches from time to time but this one just sucks. I feel slightly less in pain when the lights are turned off and I'm in a sort of head down fetal posistion, but my body starts tensing up and I need to move. Thus blogging.

I think I may call in tonight. Lord knows my paycheck wont suffer a lot, and I need the rest.

:frown: Planning to spend a whole 24 hours sleeping? Maybe you should. For the love of [insert specific religious icon here], R&R please!

Yes, PLEASE take a day off to rest. I cannot imagine working that much. Take a break and drink lots of water, it helps with the headaches.

Paracetamol! If i get a really bad headache i just stay in bed, turn off all lights, close the curtains, eat 3 paracetamols and cry.

You couldn’t have made the smart ass comment about wanting a million bucks?

How ironic that people go from treating you like you need to shape up to like you’re the employee of the month. Management is like that though. You’re the greatest when they need you. Otherwise its selective amnesia.

You should definitely take a day or two off. As Brea said, I can’t imagine working that much.
