DJ CLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUE!!

Jake has an interesting read on his website today that I quite agree with. It discusses the merits of djs like DJ Clue yelling over tracks. That is to say, it absolutely lambastes Clinton Sparks for his performance on Miri Ben-Ari's pulling strings mixtape.

I'd love to say that I agree completely with him, but I'll admit I'm fine with a yell.. or two. These Mixtapes are sometimes used by other DJs and radio stations so why not let them know where it came from, or make your competition work a little harder to steal from you?

But for the sake of my eardrum keep it quiet past that. Let's be honest here, for the most part unless you're remixing the track you had very little to do with it. So who the hell wants your name strapped all over it? I also assure you that while I may get interested in an artist because of a mixtape I'm not even listening to you when you say when the album is dropping whenever during the chorus of the album. Spit it out within the intro and first bar even if you run over and don't want someone cutting out your ad then stfu. Seriously.

If you don't blend with the music at all you need to be quiet. Intro the song then shhhh.. And for god's sake TURN OFF THE ECHO!
