Google Movies

(or, one more reason google is the wal-mart of the web)

An interesting mention of some features from a friend and fellow reader of wholelottanothing led to me checking out yet another interesting feature of google I didn't know about... "movie:"

A search on google for movie: <zip code> will give you local showtimes for theaters in your area (sample search Downtown LA). This being a pretty neat thing but *shrug* I kind of expect it from google at this point.

Try the same operator though for your favorite movie. A search for movie: Amelie for example gives a list of related movies (link) and clicking on one of the results brings you to a very nice movie page (link).

While the results are by no means as exhaustive as say IMDB, it's a very impressive showing for a search engine, and it (like many other google offerings) is still in early beta. Definately a neat tool.
