I am a huge blob of nerves at the moment, this is turning into a horrible week.

As some of you know already I was counting on my laptop to pull me through getting my work done for the time from when I moved to louisiana until my main computer got here. The second day that I was actually here however the laptop started flickering and eventually the screen stopped working altogether. This was of course only after there was some issue with even booting because of some corruption with the nt kernal. Long story moderately short.. My laptop is broken.

I have been really put off because of the fact that 1) I have no computer to work on and 2) when I am on a computer (such as this one) I am completely unable to login at work to check trouble tickets because of some shite dns issue.. So I have been counting the days until my main box is supposed to arrive.. on tuesday. Imagine my surprise when my mom came thumping on my door to announce that it had arrived a day early (bless UPS) and upon unpacking it and setting it up I received my second surprise of the day. There was a screw loose inside the case. So I picked it out, thinking it must have been lodged somewhere, although I was fairly sure that I had not left anything like that. Thats when I noticed my disk drive at a funky angle. *that* is where the screw had come from, it had sheared off from the drive holder and the drive had flipped up almost on its side. upon closer examination the other side had a sheared screw too. Also the sata drive adapters were about 1/4 of the way on the drives, and the ide cable was loose. The connector on my video card was bent, and the cd drives had been rammed in quite a bit. An interesting feat considering there is a front panel on this machine.

In other words my computer looked like UPS had decided to let it off the plane from a few hundred feet in the air... An interesting side note. I had the computer packaged at box brothers in santa monica. It came wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap and a strong outer layer of styrofoam. It was packed like a motha. I dont understand how the box could have possibly been so fucking damaged. Unless a) Box Brothers messed it up pre boxing. (which is possible since I just dropped the box off with them) or b) UPS used my fucking package as a large square footy and just kicked the fucking thing from station to station. This leaves me pissed. But whatever, maybe the computer will still work right?

Add this to the fact that the only other box I own is sitting in my friends house in California. A little too far away for any use, and I really have no idea what I'm going to do. I make my living on the computer. No computer, no monies. No monies, no bills paid. Bad days. And just after I spent a load of money moving here.
